I've mentioned this before, but I'll say it again. Chicago has real creative talent.

This past weekend, I had a good time working with a rising Chicago-based music artist Andrew Davis II with his first video shoot. I won't spoil it for you, so I'll hold off on the finer details until the video is released.  However, it was an amazing production and brought together a collection of talented 20-somethings in music, photography, fashion, film, web content, and more doing some of the most incredible work.

Passion and talent, the work is amazing. Stay tuned for what comes of this.

Film Bliss: Schmatta

2 things that I really can't get enough of are the fashion industry and documentaries. HBO really hit the nail on the head with their newest documentary film, Schmatta: Rags to Riches to Rags Again. I hear it just premiered this week, and while I don't get HBO to my apartment, I'm diligently looking for a way to see the film. It discusses, among other things, director Marc Levin's take on New York City's Garment District and the unfortunate downward spiral its been experiencing for some time now.

PS: For those of you who don't know what "schmatta" is... it translates to "rags" in Yiddish. Don't worry... I, too, had to google it as my Yiddish is a little rusty these days ;)

The September Issue

As I was listening to XM's NPR station today in the car, there was a surprisingly insightful interview with the director of the upcoming documentary on Vogue called "The September Issue". I've been hearing a good amount of anticipation about this film, so I thought I'd share with you guys. In the interview, they mentioned that the film really analyzed Anna Wintour's relationship with Vogue's Creative Director Grace Coddington, and how they really do rely on one another to make the book the way it is.

Don't you love a good documentary? I like to think of it as "The Devil Wears Prada, Uncut".
