Print Works

One thing that's going to make my spring are all of the beautifully busy prints popping up everywhere.  While florals and similar prints for spring aren't such a surprise, the colorful prints this time around are more delicate, whimsical, and everything you'll need to make a simple piece a little more special as the weather warms up.

Nadinoo of the UK has some looks in vintage inspired shapes that somehow look perfectly current.  Do check them out.

Amlul's New Closet

Somehow I missed this before, but Gala Garcia (whose fame still baffles me) announced her new line on the blog. The line itself is exactly what you would expect if you follow her style. However, it's a little tougher and takes more risks than typical lines out there now.

Verdict: Not entirely cohesive. Not a total disaster. She made the line for herself, no doubt. Overall- I like.

Designer Files: Samantha Pleet

Happy Monday! As many of you know, I am a fan of indie designers and most things a little off-beat. One designer that has caught my eye and consistently brings an aesthetic like no other is the Brooklyn-based Samantha Pleet.

Known for her staple rompers that are transformed each season, Samantha Pleet creates pieces that are a little dark, a little whimsical, and the kind I could see re-appearing in my looks season after season.

Bonus: she blogs.
