Furry Finds

First and foremost: Hi, I'm Rachel. I used to blog regularly. Now, I slack.

Now that that's out of the way... Hello! Let's chat.

Most mornings I ride the bus along Lake Shore Dr. to get downtown. As the weather is cooling down, more and more of the little old ladies who live on the lake are breaking out their shearling hats. One lady today was sporting an excellent fur hat that made her look both luxe and entirely old-school chic.

This got me thinking about the art of hats, and the fact that beautifully designed hats are such a rarity these days.

And the people who wear them well... nearly extinct.

Style Works: DIY fur vest

Fur is popping up everywhere, and I would go as far as (in part) crediting Rachel Zoe for the intense visibility of the fur vest in retail, red carpets, and more.

Last week, I alluded to a really great blog that is full of fantastic and on trend tutorials that don't look too (for better or worse) "crafty". I wanted to highlight one that really impressed me with how simple the tutorial is, and how fantastic the results could be.
I really think that the simple drape gives it that not-too-stuffy vibe, and the broach cleans up the overall look of it. It's faux and fantastic!
